As one reads through any part of the bible, one thought continues to exist – that of change.

In all of our lives, we are changing from day to day; whether that be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
We are either changing from the kind of person that we are, to being worse, or from where we are to being better.

Sometimes, we can be seen as making a steady progression forward, but sometimes we can be seen as making a steady spiral down the sewer pipes of this life.

Sometimes, we may be heading upward, and then the next day we can be seen as heading downhill.

The one thing that is for sure is that when we cling close to the hem of Jesus’ garment, as the saying goes, spending the needed time in His Word, He will lift us up and give us the strength to proceed.

The other thing for sure is that if we neglect a close relationship with Him, for whatever the reason, we are guaranteed a spiral in the opposite direction.

Probably moreso from incorrect teaching or understanding of God, many folks have been known to stay away from God because they know that they have been sinning, and that they believe that God hates the person who has been sinning.

Yes, God does hate the sin; Proverbs 6 says so,
but God’s Word also says that He is always patiently and lovingly waiting for the sinner to come to Him so that He can deal with the sin that has trapped the person in a life of depravity and desperation.

God dealt with sin when He and Jesus cooked up this plan whereby Jesus would bear the full wrath and anger of God for each and every person’s sin ever committed in their lives.

It says in II Corinthians 3 “We all, with unveiled faces, behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by The Spirit of The Lord.”

In Romans 12, we are admonished not to allow ourselves to be conformed to the patterns that we see in this flesh and blood world, but to be transformed by the renewing our minds, that by the tests we face in life be able to discern what the will of God is; that good, acceptable, and perfect will for our lives.

In Colossians 3, we are admonished to put on the new self that God has given us at the point of our Salvation, which is renewed via knowledge of the image of our Creator.

In Galatians 2, it says that if you and I are born-again, we have been crucified with Jesus Christ, and therefore it is no longer to be you and I who are expected to live by in the desires of the flesh, but the new life in Christ that you and I are expected to walk in, by faith in the finished work and power of God’s Holy Spirit.

We are also admonished in I Peter 1 to live as obedient children of God; not to allow ourselves to be directed by the passions of our former ignorance of God and His will for each of us.

One thing that will never changed, however.
That is God’s love for each and every one of us.
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the people in the world some much that He gave His only Son to die for us, so that whoever believes in Him should not suffer forever in hell, but live forever in heaven with Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:9-10 says that “If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the Saviour and Lord of your life, and believe that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
(Again, my paraphrase)

So, the question then must be asked.
What’s it going to be? Heaven or hell?

If you are experiencing a funny feeling - urging you to ask God for His forgiveness for your sins, and to ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, I can guarantee that it is not the devil urging you to do so.
It is God’s Holy Spirit speaking directly to heart.

The only thing to be settled right now is - Will you listen to Him, and turn your messed up life over to Jesus so that He can forgive you, heal you, restore your life in a manner that will glorify Father God, and will bring you that illusive peace that you have been desperately longing for?
